As you may know, the Democratic National Convention is heading to Charlotte, North Carolina, from September 4-6, 2012. The people and businesses of Charlotte have mixed feelings about this event due to current political issues, boycotts, and the way it will affect local business in the downtown and uptown areas.
It appears as if several streets will be closed due to DNC security and traffic. Good thing the Uptown is within easy walking distant of the hotels.
Will The Uptown Transit Center Be Relocating During The DNC?
If you use the uptown transit center in Charlotte you need to stay knowledgeable about the changes that will be temporarily occurring from September 3rd through September 6th. With the Democratic National Convention coming to town, the transit center will be moving from its normal location to Third and South Mint Streets.
The transit center spokespeople have expressed that everything will be done to make this transition as seamless as possible, so no inconvenience will be brought to the customers. The transit center has temporarily relocated in the past, both during the week and on the weekends. They assure customers that the operation will be flawless.

The EpiCentre has recently been acquired by new owners, and a deal has been struck with MSNBC. This cable station is leasing the space on the first floor to cover the events of the DNC the week of September 3, 2012. MSNBC could very well be collecting footage around the clock. However, the coverage specifics have not been released yet.
DNC Has Announced Its 2012 BBQ Sauce Winners

· Pig Pucker BBQ by “Dan the Pig Man” out of Charlotte for the mustard base
· Sabra Kelley and Tom Montgomery from 12 Bones Smokehouse in Asheville for the tomato base
· Mark Cieslikowski with Q2U Catering and BBQ Pit, Lake Wylie, S.C., for the vinegar base
